Even though we're 7-0 we've really only played 2 quality opponents. Since Slovakia was a no-show the only tough games have been USA and the Finns. What concerns me is we only barely squeeked by the US of A, and although we had a convincing win over the Finns, they were missing 2 guys (due to match pens), were coming off a tough game the previous day, AND we were outplayed for long stretches - especially early in the 2nd when we had a slim 2-1 lead.
Although we essentially got a free pass into the medal round, I would have preferred a tougher schedule. I hope our guys can play a full 60 without the lapses in intensity and the mental errors that we've been able to get away with.
The 7-0 and flashy GF/GA stuff doesn't mean much.
I agree.......i don't think we've proved much yet over 60 minutes other then this team has so much talent they can win all their games playing at 75% of it's capabilities.
The semis should show us what kind of real team this group wants to/can be.
if they come dedicated to playing their best and busting their butts.........................watch out.
if they don't...................i can't see then taking home Gold, they'll get upset.
It's up to them!!

Agreed ...it's theirs to lose....this TC built for small pond domination....will take more effort than they've shown to date....
They've been lazy at too long intervals so far i find candon
Great team when they want to play but far too lazy for too many long stretches of the games for my liking.
If they decide to bust their butt as a team like last years unit they would roll through this thing fairly comfortably................that team worked so hard and found chemistry with each other by doing so.
but so far i have yet to witness it from this team Hey......it's not like it's all bad as some aspects of the team have been great but it's the important things like what we are talking about that make or break you in the must win games that you have to do well or you're toast against good teams like Sweden who also know how to win games.
They better get their ass in gear or Sweden will bounce them, don't forget they have the best goaltending in this tourney.
As always i'm behind our guys to the bitter end, what i say i say out of concern and care.
It's such a great opportunity for these guys............................Gold on home ice in the first Worlds in Canada in history.
I think they need to be reminded of this.
this is not some namby-pamby does'nt mean anything tourney.
it never is or should be when you're wearing the Maple Leaf and it's colours.

Yep...it worries me that they haven't faced much adversity....to this point anyway...they are a force at times tho eh?
Teams are ranked and are placed in the pool accordingly....you don't 'pick' your opponents...they should have had an easy schedule...they earned it. They KNOW they have to play better to win...
