A rather spirited SWE-RUSS game don't you think?

If you ignore the third one, what team doesn't make these excuses? I'm sure that a few Canadians, when they lose, call the other team lucky.

By the way, using point 2 in regard to the World Championships is pointless. Every country will always have players tied up in the playoffs (except for really shit hockey countries, but there it doesn't matter) or players who are too lazy to come.

Clean hit by NHL standards,
IIHF rules state no head hits so I guess in that scenario it is a head shot...intentional or not....plus it WAS interference.
But it was a shoulder hit with a player's head down
Games are played at high speed & intensity...shit happens ...so keep your head up!
Morozov MUST take some responsibility! It is a contact sport and no matter what the rules are they don't help if you play in a dangerous fashion and keeping your head down it just about at the top of that list!

Kovalchuk does indeed have balls if he's going after Murray. Murray made some hilariously arrogant comments after the game about Kovalchuk.

I'm quoting from a Swedish newspaper of very low standards, but I'm sure they wouldn't invent quotes from a Swedish player. The translation reads:

I think i pointed out above that Canadians probably make those excuses more then anyone.

When it came to the worlds in the old days (and the olympics).............they were actually right on target and very true.

But these days it does'nt wash for the most part.

Though we still tend to use them.

Do you really think so? I don't know much about the Canadian media, but I'm sure they put really high pressure on the players. It definitely used to be the same in Sweden, but has gotten better recently that we had some big wins.
