In all honesty, I think that Murray would mop the ice with Ruutu. One is a heavyweight, one is a pest - though outside of the NHL, there is little difference I guess. The hit itself was clean, the only slight problem is that while Morozov was going for the puck, a Swede got in the way. Murray did follow through (ill-advised, perhaps) but I don't think that it should have been a match-penalty. It does say in the IIHF rules that if a player does something illegal and injures someone, it should be a match-penalty, but as the hit itself was not illegal (ignoring minor details like who has the puck etc.) I don't see the problem

One thing that really bugs me is that they gave him a checking from behind penalty. They have to call something, but surely they should call something that he's actually done. 2+2 or 2+10 or something like that for interference would have done the job I think.
Shame Russia won, and kudos to our defence for stepping up. Magnus Johansson played over 20 minutes just in the first two periods.
