oh, sure we did. At least most of us. I personally never insulted any of Canadian fans nor players and gave them the full credit for their effort. Because what we were witnessing was a classic. Probably the best WC final ever.

I just mentioned one joke about Rick Nash as "nash" means "our guy" in Russian, a funny co-incidence that he took that penalty in the OT. However I consider it to be quite harmless and certainly my goal was not to hurt any1s feelings. No, we're just a bit upset at all the people who think that this win means a new Russian dynasty, the death of Canadian hockey, blah blah blah.

You won a game. You thoroughly deserved to win this game and this tournament. But still, its one game, and one year. It means that the Russian program has recovered from the mid 90s. It doesn't mean that Russia will now win the next 10 WCs/Olympics/World Cups.

As for a better team, we lost to a team that played better hockey on that particular day, and we lost to Mr. Bykov, who did one heck of a job. It doesn't mean our boys were doomed from the drop of the puck, or that Ovechkin simply stared at Cam Ward and Ward wet his pants.

You guys beat us. It's not the first time, it won't be the last time. But that doesn't mean we can't beat you the next time.

We, Russians, consider Team Canada as a toughest and grea-*test*-('") -*test*-('"), we can pass thru! It was a great honor to fight you in the end on such significant event, as this WC! You invented it! 100 years to IIHF! And we won! No hockey event can be greater, than this one! This is our, Russian opinion! It's like to defeat Team England in soccer at Wembley at FIFA 100 years celebration! I repeat, the great meaning of this victory - is just our opinion, and you can consider it as you like.

We have had no love for the IIHF....
They did manage to ignore the most important Hockey Nation for a long time.
The ideological issues over Pro vs. Amateur still bugs most Canadians....
Games were played in the afternoon when most are at work
Maybe some day if the IIHF includes NA more often this tourney will gain prominence over here...

Well Ray ...... that pro vs amature case is old ,i think you sould get over it ...... i dont see any sense to bring it up ...... yeah ,before 80´s pro and amature sport was separate tightly in whole sport scene ,not just in hockey ...... and so what ,you cant turn clock back .... what are you waiting for to iihf in that case ?? ....do you realy belive ,bring that up help you some way at future? ...i dont think so

yeah ...games played in afternoon for reason .......major tv audience is in europe ...... if those games show here late night ,tv broadcast´s pay only dime to iihf to show those games ....... if you like to schedule to primetime ....you have to open your wallet big time ....way it is

it´s not iihf´s job to market games ,that´s Canadian hockey federation´s job ..... if they do good job ,you can have games at future
