| dryden, Your team lost to a better team period. Just be a man to admit it. We beat you guys on your own ground. And MAN, that tastes good |

i admitted you won and were the better team the second you scored the goal in OT!! Show me where i didn't admit it!! you seem to forget something........Canadian fans don't blame the refs when we lose!! I wish i could say that for you guys..........but i've been around the hockey boards long enough to have seen that only a precious few of you behave the same way. Hell, you even have a bone to pick with the refs when you win!! Dear God........................what's the matter with you guys? |

| if you like to schedule to primetime ....you have to open your wallet big time ....way it is it´s not iihf´s job to market games ,that´s Canadian hockey federation´s job ..... |

That's BS!!! We had the third highest gate EVER in the IHWC even with bad start times! It was Hockey Canada's choice to schedule games the way they were!!!! Hockey Canada already admitted it was an error & that next time games will be in NA prime time!!! It had nothing to do with us not ponying up |

and yet I read this just a few posts up
I'm positive it was dryden that was 1st on the Russian board giving kudos to your win but posts like the above get his blood boiling. Russia had an OT win & wins in the last few minutes...hardly a dominating team But full marks for the Gold...which I have said numerous times stop lumping all Canadians into one pile posts you read are the MINORITY of opinions the one who talks the loudest usually has nothing to say Read our media...... show me one single journalist who claimed Russia did not deserve the win they have however say/said Russia has not had top results since 1993...very true Statements like "Canada will not win any medals for a decade to come" or "Russia will dominate Canada" is showing true ignorance and lack of respect IMO. I hope that is not what your media writes ...only foolish fans. Two wrongs never make a right! NiLz you are classy & level headed don't get sucked in by schoolyard tactics The score always tells who was better...that's why we keep score and don't have figure skating judges an ugly win is no better than a pretty one 3 things have kept Russia from winning gold the last 15 yrs 1- Goalies 2- Coaching 3- Player attitude you had all three this year Nabby didn't cost you bad goals Bykov did a fantastic job....the time out saved you!!! Players wanted to win...badly If you do not beat a great opponent the win means NOTHING Your win should taste sweet as it would have to us if we had won Would we be the superior team had we won in OT? NO Russia is World Champ the result no better than our win in Russia last year |

| I don't get the crack about opening your wallet. There is a production company that does the broadcasts that are the same whether you are sitting in Prague or in Kamloops, it is produced by a Swedish company. Then the IIHF sells the rights to various television stations like TSN or Ceske Televize. If you think that hockey canada has to pay the television stations to broadcast the hockey, then that is way out to lunch. |

| It's supposed to be the International Ice Hockey Federation, not the European Ice hockey federation. |

| The world juniors is an IIHF sanctioned event which is most popular in Canada and where the IIHF makes the most money off it and i've got my ass out of bed religiously at times like 5-6 in the morning to watch our games when they are held in Europe. |
| QUOTE (Cuemaster @ May 21, 2008 02:04 pm) | ||
yeah .....because they are not so high rated in europe you can host those games nearly another year |

| Just wondering, are the World Juniors even on TV in Europe? I hear you guys aren't really into them that much... |
