I don't know if its been announced , who r starting goalie will be ?...BUT IF ..it were my call , I'd say LeClaire.

Ward hasn't been bad by any means. But he never looked comfortable in the QF vs. NOR to me. I thought he got himself a little out of position on that one goal, which went high glove side. He seemed to be fighting the puck a tad too , giving up big rebounds , & his body language just didn't look right.

I know TC feels a sense of obligation/ loyalty to Ward, for delivering the GOLD last year...He was good then , but again far from great. In 07 WC the competition was Roloson. That guy made repeated brain dead decisions with the puck , didn't seem capable of communicating with his D, which in turn made them play timid at times. Really, playing Ward in last years medal round was a no brainer...THIS YEAR IS DIFFERENT !

Flat out LeClaire has looked better, sharper, calmer, even to the point of cocky. In the Latvia game ( for example ) he seemed to be sending out vibes to the shooter, after every fine save, a la ‘ NO FRIGGEN WAY ANYTHING GETS PAST ME. That Latvia game was a blowout, but think back. Our guys were in cruise control , from about the mid point onward. TC got bone lazy, & just let LeClaire take them home. He looked every bit as unshakeable in the games vs. Finland and Norway too.

It's LeClaire's turn. I say PLAY HIM ! & if he shuts the door on 3 Kr's ( and I'm confident he will ) ...well U know the rest ...RIDE THE HOT NETTIE...endofstorey...

Agree ? Disagree ? What say U ‘ ALL ?

I would definitely play Leclaire...he's been the better of the two not just in this tournament but all season long. And if he has a great game today, play him in the final...

I hope they play LeClaire, as his first name is funny biggrin.gif.

cool.gif cool.gif I can see that Pascal would be a funny name in Finland, not something "normal" like Saku or Jarko biggrin.gif

Aurelia- 05-16-2008
Well, it's not the name's rareness that's funny... Though you are right, NO ONE in Finland would name their kid Pascal over normal names like Saku and Jarkko and Mikko and Aki-Petteri and Antti-Jussi... Because Pascal means something I'm not sure if I can write here in English? smile.gif

Yep, it's Lecalire for me too.

i agree with schooley.....................ward didn't look very comfortable.

I'm ok with either guy but prefer Leclaire..................maybe it's just uncalled for negative thinking though.

maybe Ward would be fine.

Either way...................................some guy has to stand tall and give us a chance to win.

No softies and we need some rob jobs please!!

It is Leclaire today...and if he's good I can only believe the final , if we get there will be his as well...if they were going with Ward....he'd be in the semis today I think.....

Aurelia- 05-16-2008
Well, it starts with an s, so it's not the worst possible word, but I still don't know if it is allowed here smile.gif.

I think shit is allowed

Aurelia- 05-16-2008
Ok then, his name is pretty much identical with the Finnish word for "shit".

There you have it biggrin.gif. It's horrible name to have if you have any ties to Finland.

Sch 12 rus 0- 05-16-2008
Well Suomi coulda used Pascal to backstop them today...he mighta saved their arses and fit right in ...cause they all played like a bunch of ' pascals ' today...

2 too many men penalties in the 3rd ? and no offense to speak of all game ? Finns looked Tired...Was the flight from Halifax to Quebec City partly to blame ? I dunno ? BUT...

that got me to thinking...Why didn't we have Team Can based in Quebec City all along? and make our opposition travel prior to the semis ?

Our Home / Hockey Canada WC organizers were rather daft n'est-ce pas ?
