Well, I knew that YESTERDAY! If he's not qualified to act as a video referee then he was inexperienced. Also he has admitted his mistake and is miserable about it.

Your entire 1st post/thread starter was ALL ABOUT ANTI-EUROPEAN BIAS that it impossible to neglect. I sometimes react to that...not always though.

Well the video evidence ALONE provides a compelling argument for bias/ and without any doubt Team USA was CHEATED by that video judge....Nevertheless...if u revisit that thread u'l see that I said there was ' NO CONSPIRACY' ( or in ur words ' GRAND EUROPEAN SKULLDUGGERY' ) ...Conspiracy implies more than one principle working in collusion / + with malice of forethought...

IIHF ought to REVIEW which replays ' specifically ' the Swede was given...& which ONE he actually saw, since he claimed to have watched only ONE, but One Time...

So Too, They NEED to re-stress an already well known/ existing protocol...To Whit: henceforth all VIDEO JUDGES MUST..repeat MUST... watch every replay available, from all angles available...repeatedly...before rendering their decision...

They ought to then issue public assurances to all fans/ media/ federations etc...That Hencefourth this POLICY/ RULE will be made ABUNDANTLY clear to all Video Review Judges prior to tourneys/ games...and that they will also remind them repeatedly of this, at all opportunities...

They should also issue a public apology to USA hockey / All Hockey Fans...since the IIHF DOES INDEED share some culpability IMO..though obviously, not nearly so much as the Swede...

& If there's also a problem with the criteria by which Vid offiicals are chosen ...than this too should be addressed by IIHF and their conclusions should again be subsequently made public...

You now it was russain judg that desided in that game. Finnish dident do anything wrong, its not them you should complaing on, But Usa played really dirty then they did hit finnish player after a game, and that should have been a match penelty. So us got lucky.

next fin-usa game would be intresting too see. and finnland do have a good chans to win.

I must be misreading/misunderstanding here ?...for obviously... no-one from Finland would ever point the finger of blame predominantly at the on ice ref/ US players ... ( when they were clearly mitigating factors involved in the US players response... ) ...While seeming to MINIMIZE the Swede Vid Judge CLEARLY more prominent role in this fiasco ?

So far as I know... NO Canuck or Yank fan , on this board, has ever blamed ANY member of Team Suomi/ the Finnish Hockey Feds/ Nor even the ON ICE officials ...for any aspects of that fiasco...So far be it from me to imply anything similar...on the flip side

REALLY... What PROOF?/ EVIDENCE? do we have that...BIAS... didn't play a role in Andersson's strange / arbitrary decision to view ( according to him ) ' ONLY ONE REPLAY, ONE TIME / ? ' So far, we're only heard ( indirectly/ second hand ) from Andersson himself on this score....

So What's Peter Andersson done to deserve the benefit of the doubt ? Which SO MANY seem anxious ( sans further inquiry ) to give him ?

IF the video ref has no way to alert the on ice officials...Bearing in mind all the modern technology avail....The begs two questions 1) WHY NOT ? & 2) Why couldn't the IIHF-Dumb hire some techno wizard , to address this ‘ INSUFFICIENCY' in the future ?

As an Aside..and IF I'm NOT MISTAKEN...The NHL's Toronto office, has a strict policy of reviewing ALL goals in the playoffs, and also has a system in place to rapidly alert on ice officials , whenever they suspect a problem...

Again if I'm not mistaken... this NHL protocol/ goal review system...was put in place pursuant to a puck entering thru the side of the net...some years back...in the NHL playoffs ( one of the teams involved might have been Buffalo but I'm just guessing ) that play WAS NOT REVIEWED...thus was erroneously deemed a goal...

Surely, the IIHF is capable of learning ...or am I expecting TOO MUCH : ) ... from the clearly superior NHL vid review system...steada seeming to have a proclivity to SWEEP THINGS UNDER THE RUG/ HIDE IN THEIR IVORY TOWERS...
