In 2006, during and after the Football World Cup in Germany, the international fan parties in the host cities were praised to the skies. ihwcforums/cloud9.gif People wrote that was not just a sports event, but rather a real multicultural encounter. I can still see myself quarrelling with the fact that some time even the best party must be over.

I don’t want to exaggerate here, and even less I wanna say that the 2010 hockey WC in Germany will be the same. But the feeling after this tournament is similar to 2006: hard to leave this board, hard to push aside this great final game. What else did we do here but a virtual “public viewing” ? To me, this great Swiss WC was even more enjoyable with the help of all these nicks here, even if some discussions weren’t really that “peace, joy and pancake” style. Shit on my team’s performance, this was great here. ihwcforums/thumbsup.gif It was easy to cheer with certain other teams.

Please don’t anybody ask me if I would have written the same if the eagle carriers really had been relegated. I really don’t know. ihwcforums/whistle.gif

ihwcforums/blush2.gif oh my oh my. I just overflew the CAN - RUS thread on the Canadian board. Nearly made me change my mind. Glad I did not interfere at all because I had a lot of work during the week. NO NO NO though I won't criticize that. First I wanted to write sth like "So embarrassing". But that would have been stupid. That's hockey, that's what ultra fans are like. I don't want to miss them in the arena - wouldn't be too loud without them. ihwcforums/heart.gif
